November: The Rose is built in downtown Brooklyn.
1878
January: Carter Thomason dies and Michael Carraway purchases The Rose.
1879
May: The Rose's stage is outfitted with electric overhead lights.
1886
March 4: Rhys "Curse" Edwards joins the stage crew.
1894
October 16: Stage Manager John McKay is killed in a fall from the grid.
1898
December 30: Fiddler MacDonald leaves the stage crew.
1899
June 14: McKay is promoted to Stage Manager.
September: Anastasia Bradshaw is hired as an actress.
1900
September: The old rope set is replaced with a counterweight rigging system.
December 14: Dinah Osborn is hired as the Wardrobe Department's Costumes Mistress.
1901
January 10: Judith Rosenburg joins the wardrobe department as a temporary seamstress while a friend in the department is in the last stages of pregnancy.
February 28: Judith's temporary position becomes permanent.
1902
February 8: Philip Riggin hires on as a stage hand at The Rose.
February 11:After an explosive argument with his parents, Riggin moves out and finds an apartment with fellow stagehands Catwalk and Ragtime Scarpetta.
April 23: Catwalk Scarpetta is fired because of his relationship with Emily Carraway. He moves to Queens a week later.
July 7: Manager Osborne Lee quits and moves to Philadelphia for undisclosed reasons.
July 18: James McKay is hired as manager of The Rose, Jakob Jostein is promoted to Stage Manager, and Lance Doctorow is moved up to Shop Foreman.
September 2: Martin Jameson moves to New York City and discovers The Rose Theater on the same day.
September 3: Missy Franklin auditions for The Rose's resident company.
September 8: Missy Franklin is hired.
