Missy Franklin

Missy Franklin

What's yer name? Melissa Franklin. *smiles a little nervously* *needs a few minutes to calm herself down in new situations, and having just arrived at the theater, is understandably shook up*

Dat what people call ya, or d'ya got a nickname? Actually, most people call me Missy. *shrugs and laughs, knowing it sounds strained* *wishes she could just -relax-* Not too original, I know. But it works.

Whaddaya look like? *clears her throat and becomes a little more sure of herself* I have straight, waist-level blonde hair, brown eyes. My mouth is a little too wide, I think, though no one has ever said anything about it. I'm not beautiful, by any means, though I've had my fair share of suitors.

How old are ya? I just turned 20 last month. *a little proudly*

What kind o' work d'ya do? Actor, stagehand, what? *laughs, sounding much more natural than before* I act. Not very well, I suppose, but it's better than nothing, right? I don't mind doing a little grunt work, if I have to, but I prefer being up on stage. *looks far away* It's a feeling like no other, being up there, watched by a crowd, knowing they're hanging on your every word. Losing yourself and becoming someone else, just for a little while. It's amazing. *blushes*

How'd ya end up heah, anyway? Well, I studied acting in school. My parents didn't agree with that, and it wasn't easy. *looks almost sad for a brief minute* They never came to a single one of my plays. And after I graduated from school, I struck out on my own. I was a regular at a little theater in Queens for about two years. That got boring after a little while. They never did different plays, it was always the same five. So I left, and found myself auditioning here. *shrugs* I guess they liked what they saw. I must've had a really good day. *grins*

How 'bout tellin' us a little 'bout yerself? Ya know, what kinda personality ya got? *thinks* Well, I try to be friendly to everyone. I'm sure it doesn't always work. *lowers her voice* Some of the other actresses here are really horrid. *resumes her normal tone* I'm really sort of shy. I keep to myself. I know, the stereotype is that actors are really loud and attention-starved, but that's just not me.

Any special talents? *self-deprecating laugh* Acting, I hope!
